Leah Clearwater's head burst through the surface of the crystal clear water. She knew she shouldn't be here, but you know what? She really didn't care. And the great thing about Jacob's Pack? No one told her what to do. Well, no. Jacob would give direction occasionally, but it wasn't the same as Sam's 'do it or i'll kill you listen to me i am so alpha' kind of thing. Jacob's Pack was actually working out pretty well for her. Aside from the fact that she was barley ranked higher than her baby brother, and she had to not kill leeches.
But, she didn't have to deal with Sam 'best thing that's ever happened to this tribe' Uley and Emily 'oh gosh i'm so innocent and useless and i cook' Young(almost Uley) anymore. No, Leah wasn't still in love with him, or whatever it was that people assumed. She just...
Leah had been doing just fine(well almost) after Sam broke up with her, but then he and Emily had asked her to be a bridesmaid. She understood, of course, that the only reason that they wanted to include her was so they could feel like they didn't do anything wrong. Anyway, Leah freaked out. Like any sane girl. And she, unlike a normal girl, phased.
Her daddy had a heart attack. Yeah, Leah was that girl. The one who still calls her father 'daddy' when she's nineteen. It was all her fault, between her and Seth phasing... His heart couldn't handle all the stress.
Being a werewolf was what made Leah start act like such a pregnant not, not being in love with Sam Uley. Now that she had been inside his head, Leah didn't understand why she fell for him in the first place. But then, she realizes that he's not her Sam anymore. Her Sam was sweet and gentle and kind and loving and faithful and loyal and good and everything that even then, Leah wouldn't ever be.
She still didn’t understand why she had to phase, instead of some other girl. She hated herself for not being enough of a woman to stay human, and for not being good enough to forgive Emily, who(everyone says) did nothing wrong. Leah refused to believe that, though. Emily could have resisted Sam. She could have gone home, and left Sam heartbroken. Leah still doesn't know if she'd rather have that happen or not. But probably.
Leah swam slowly out into the deeper water, enjoying a rare sunny morning. She had had to get away from all of the lovey-ness in the Cullen's crypt. Between Mr. and Mrs. Loveleechy{aka Bella and Edward}, Dr. and Mrs. Dracula, Jake and the Spawn, and Seth and his leech, even the leader of the assassin leeches and her mate…. the atmosphere was just... overwhelmingly gooey. Leah couldn’t do goo.
Leah didn't have anything against love, she really didn't, but the kind of love these people seemed into, the all consuming, can't live without them, fall apart when they leave kind of love, imprinting, it was just too weird. Leah was incredibly glad that she could never imprint.
After a moment, Leah's thoughts were pulled back in the direction of Seth and his leech... erm.. Lily. She was... remarkably similar to Leah, if she wanted to be honest with herself(which she didn't). She seemed to be a sarcastic bitch for the soul purpose of pissing off everyone else. That was sure what Leah did. But she most certainly didn't approve of the leech. She didn't approve of her baby brother being romantically involved with anyone, especially not a bloodsucker. And not even one of the ones that didn't kill humans.
Leah shook her head, and swam back toward the shore. She had heard someone calling her, she thought. She wasn’t supposed to be here. They had an agreement, and it involved her Pack staying away from La Push. Oops.
She reached the shore in a minute, and jogged over to where she'd laid her tee shirt and shorts when she came an hour or two ago. She hadn't bothered to bring a towel. No point, really. Wolf body heat dried you off pretty quickly. She slipped on her shorts and her huge shirt over the skimpy black bikini she'd worn, and looked around for the person. She didn't see anyone right away, so she just sat down on the rock where her things had been, crossed her legs up under her, and waited for whoever to come to her. She needed to communicate with someone that wasn't her pack soon, or she'd probably explode from all of the stupid.
