The Mask!
Character Name: Emmett Cullen *couldn't think of a middle name... any ideas? *
Species: Vampire
Group: Golden Eyed Vampire
Gender: Male
Age: unknown ;; appears late-teens to early twenties
Diet: vegetarian
Appearance:
(THAT picture is worth 1000 words )
Emmett Cullen. He's the strongest of the Cullen Coven, aside from the newborn Bella. His strength is most definately apparent in his stature. He stands about six foot three inches (6'3). Naturally, being a Cullen, he has the beautiful, liquid gold eyes of a vegetarian vampire. His hair color varies depending on the light, it can go from near blond to near black.
Personality:
Emmett, although overly competitive at times, is extremely good-natured. He loves to hang out with his coven, playing sports, watching sports, and especially hunting some juicy grizzly bear. He lives for Rosalie, but then she is a large part of the reason he isn't dead. His other weakness, second only to Rose, would have to be the adorable Nessie. He'd do anything for his niece, and she knows it.
Sadly, even the best of vampires have flaws. Emmett tends to rush into things without stopping to think them through. He can be a bit arrogant at times, forgetting that he isn't invincible, even if he isn't too far from it. He tends to say exactly what is on his mind, regardless of whose feelings might get hurt, one could call it being brutally honest.
History:
No one really knows much about Emmett's history, why is that? Truth is, he doesn't know much himself.
Emmett was about twenty years old when Rosalie found him in the woods mauled by a bear. He was barely old enough to start learning that life isn't a game, and begin looking for a deeper meaning. However, before he even got the chance to grow up and conform to society's mold, his reckless nature put his fate in the hands of the Cullens.
Always the adventure-seeker and extreme-sport enthusiast, Emmett had rushed into the forest seeking a cliff to climb, he had his rope and harness, what else could he possibly need to be safe? Oh yeah, and of course he remembered his lunch, Emmett would never forget food. Which is exactly what got him in trouble. The bear had smelled the turkey meat Emmett had packed for lunch, enticing him. Emmett, naturally, wouldn't dream of giving up his lunch, but even if he had would it have mattered? A human is much more appetizing than a sandwich to any carnivore large enough to be up to the task. The real question is, what kept the bear from killing him? Maybe it heard Rose approaching, or merely lost interest. No one knows.
Luckily for Emmett, Rosalie showed up when she did. If she'd been ten minutes later she'd have been too late. Then next thing Emmett can remember after the bear attack and three days of unbelievable pain burning through every inch of his body, is waking up in the Cullen's house in Forks, Washington, with the prettiest woman he'd ever laid eyes on staring at him as if waiting for him to open his eyes. From that moment on he has been head over heels in love with Rosalie. Of course the Cullens filled him in on his new life, and what had happened after Rose rescued him.
In all truth, Emmett was thrilled to be part of a family again. He didn't remember much of his human life since the memories were so dim compared the new ones he was making. However the few memories he had weren't as pleasant as his happy-go-lucky personality would lead you to believe they were. His father was a politician, his mother the perfect 'trophy wife'. He was an only child, but a lot of the time he felt invisable. His dad was too busy working late, campaigning, and going on business. His mother was busy keeping up appearances, hosting dinner parties to get his father endorsements, hosting bookclubs, brunchs, and a million and one other social events a year. Perhaps that's why Emmett felt the need to tempt fate, would anyone really notice if he were gone? And under the heat of the media caused by his father's affair that had torn apart the little family he had, Emmett had decided to get out of the house and take a trip into the forest to go rock climbing.
Due to his unpleasant upbringing, Emmett never talks about the past. He lives in the now. It's been easy to forget his human life living with the Cullens, being part of a real family, making much more vivid memories, and having siblings to hassle. That's why he'd go to any length to protect them.

Andy tossed and turned, his sheets clinging to his bare torso. This is fucking ridiculous! he thought as he lay awake in his humid room. Glancing at the clock it hit him that he was usually up by now, he'd overslept for the first time in months. Although one could argue that since he had no where to be and never uses an alarm clock that he really didn't oversleep at all. But Andy is just one of those people that can't stand to waste precious hours that lack daylight.
Groaning as he pulled the sheet off and forced himself to sit up, Andy caught himself thinking, damn, it's hell gettin old. He scolded himself. He knew he wasn't old. He knew it was purely psychological, he may be over four hundred years old, but his body hadn't aged a day past twenty-one, and for all he knew, probably never would. It was his mental age that weighed him down at times, always working for the last four hundred years really did get draining, at least normal humans got retirement to look forward to some seventy years down the road. He supposed that was the price to be paid for immortality. At least there were still plenty animals around to kill the time studying.
Sighing, Andy stretched then proceeded to get up and make his way to the bathroom just off his room. He washed his face, then glanced up into the mirror. His deep green eyes stared back at him, vibrant as ever. "My god, looks can be deceiving." he muttered aloud, refering again to his true age versus his youthful appearance.
Returning to his bedroom he looked at his large 'cat' sprawled across the foot of his bed. He ran a hand down the black and white striped body and watched the tiger blink at him groggily. "Tobi, you are a bed hog. You might have to go back to sleeping on the floor. Sorry bud." Although the cat obviously had no idea what he was saying, Andreas couldn't help but feel bad for the creature. He really shouldn't be cooped up indoors, but then that wasn't Andy's fault. He'd bought the tiger from a circus owner, who was in fact rather cruel. Tobi had gotten burnt out on performing to the point that he would lash out at his trainers, and for a mortal that's anything but safe. They were going to put the great cat down. Andy, being as drawn to animals as he is, couldn't help but find a way to prevent such a horrible ending for the cat. He offered the circus owner a fair price and being the business type, the man couldn't turn down the offer. Sure, Andy suffered a few bites during his training sessions, but in his mind it was all worth it to see the cat learn to trust people again. Of course getting bit wasn't really a big deal to Andy since he could self-heal, a trick that sure made animal training easier.
All of Andreas' animals lived outdoors except Tobi. It killed Andy to keep the big cat indoors, but he just wouldn't be able to survive outside. He had no instincts left to use. He was nothing more than a pet at best. The big creature rolled over and buried his face under a massive paw, as if wanting to go back to sleep. "Cat, one of these days you'll just have to learn to do the sensible thing and sleep during the day. You know you'll never get any sleep at night living with me."
Andy sniffed, there was that smell again, he'd smelled it earlier that day when he'd woken up. It was definitely blood, but not human. He russled the sheets looking for any sign of the red liquid. He pulled the big cat over to his original position. Tobi, although obviously displeased, complied. There! It was on Tobi's side. A small gash, nothing to worry about really, shallow, but wide, Andy figured he should wrap it to keep the cat from doing anymore damage to it. He made his way back to the bathroom and checked the medicine cabinet. No vet wrap. This stunned Andy, he never ran out of vet wrap, he always kept plenty around for his entourage of animals.
Quickly he found a t-shirt and threw it over his head, pulling it on on his way out the door. "I'll be back bud, go back to sleep."
He made his way through the darkening corridors, allowing the cheery glow of the lanterns to light his way. He really hoped he wouldn’t run into anyone on this little excursion, his pajama pants really didn’t match the shirt he’d grabbed. The shirt was a deep blue, almost royal blue, while his pants were red and black plaid. But the shirt had looked black in his room, he’d tried to look presentable.
Finally he reached Cáel’s office. He almost knocked but he could hear something going on in the office. Good old Cáel, still being a playboy. Andy shook his head as he went ahead into the clinic and started looking through some cabinets. He heard whoever had been in the office with Cáel sneak out the door. Returning to his search, he finally found a few rolls of medical wrap stashed in a drawer. He made his way to the clinic desk and grabbed a prescription pad and a pen, Cáel, borrowed some wrap. I owe you a … his thoughts got cut off as he heard the door creak ever so quietly, and someone whispered for Cáel. God that man got busy a lot. Andy paused a second. Cáel didn’t like women, crap, probably a student then. “Sorry, he’s busy, what do ya need? I‘m sure I can help.” So much for not getting caught in mismatched attire. He started to go back to the note to finish it but something stopped him. It was the distinct smell of blood. Human blood specifically. Well, shit. he thought as he turned to see exactly who was bleeding. Not that he’d ever bite anyone, but if it was someone he didn’t care for it be a hell of a lot harder to try and help. Maybe he should just go and leave it for Cáel to handle. He was the nurse afterall, why should Andy have to do his job?
